Welcome to Region 188 of the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Coaches

AYSO is an all-volunteer organization that relies on our adult volunteers generously giving their time to make the Region “Go”. Each one of our teams requires a coach and assistant coach each season. Coaches are the foundation of our program and ensure all our activities are conducted in a safe, fair, and fun manner while working to develop our players in the skills of soccer and the benefits of team sports. We offer coach training and mentoring to those who are interested or might not feel like they have the necessary skills to lead a team.

Coach Training and Certification Requirements

Much of the administrative and safety training has moved on-line. We ask each of our volunteers to complete the following courses as a minimum. The courses are available under the 'Online Courses' tab in the 'Coaching Training' Folder in AYSOU:

In addition, we ask that our coaches complete the age-appropriate training course for the age division they will be working with. The courses are available under the 'Online Courses' tab in the 'Coaching Training' folder:

1. 4U/5U - Playground and Schoolyard Soccer Program Leader
2. 6U - 6U Coaching Training
3. 8U - 8U Coaching Training
4. 10U - 10U Coaching Training
5 12U - 12U Coaching Training Pre-Course
6. 14U - Intermediate Coaching Training Pre-Course

Note: There is no monetary cost to the volunteer only their time.
